Dentist

Look for an accredited cosmetic dentist. Cosmetic dentist is not a speciality in dentistry so any dentist can self-proclaim with this title. Try and look for Certified Prosthodontists. You can also look for an american trained dentist practicing in mexico. Porcelain Veneers also require a qualified lab technician. English Speaking dentist is also highly recommended.

Clinic

Look for dental tourism clinics instead of regular clinic. The reason for this is dental tourism clinics usually have shorter time frames and different protocols for porcelain veneers. There are great clinics for veneers in Algodones, Tijuana, and Cancun.

Technologies

Smile design software, digital dentistry, and on-site CadCam are some of the technologies to consider when searching for a dentist in Mexico. Just 1 out of every 80 dental clinics in Mexico has a on-site lab let alone all the other equipment.

Materials

The most common porcelain for veneers in Mexico is E-max all porcelain by IvoClar VivaDent. Material for Porcelain Veneers are commonly divided into two groups, oxide ceramic and silicate ceramic. As a patient you should learn what ceramic and brand is used in case you cant go back to Mexico and further down the road one of your Veneers has to be replaced. Colors between different providers can change even if it considered the same tone.

Shades Available

Shades for veneers can be split up into two groups, bleach color and natural white. Bleach colors are know in dentistry like BL1, BL2(OM2), BL3(OM3), BL4(OM4), bleach 1 being the whitest, and Bleach 4 the least white. Natural white colors usually consist of either A1 or B1, with B1 being whiter than A1. Makes no sense but B1 is a lighter tone than A1 both considered natural white color.
